Tell Me Something Good – Accessible Outdoors – Wisconsin

At My Choice Wisconsin, our staff regularly receive uplifting emails from our Member Advisory Committee. These feel-good messages make our week and we’re pleased they have agreed to include you in sharing their positive thoughts!

We hope you and your family have enjoyed summer in Wisconsin. For many that included a trip within our beautiful state. Speaking of our beautiful state, Door County’s Peninsula State Park is a popular destination. Are you aware of the Eagle Tower’s accessible ramp in Peninsula State Park in Door County? Maybe you have been fortunate enough to check it out this summer. We encourage you to read the amazing story of how this came about.

My Choice Wisconsin member, Nick, is the accessibility coordinator for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR). He was part of the team that worked to get that ramp built!  Nick is not only a leader but a true inspiration to others. You can find out more about the DNR’s commitment to providing exceptional outdoor recreation opportunities for people of all abilities across the state on their website in the section Open the Outdoors.

Good news indeed!
