Dear Supportive Homecare Provider:
The Wisconsin Department for Health Services (DHS) recently set a minimum fee schedule for all home and community-based services, to begin October 1, 2024. For supportive homecare providers, this minimum rate is $6.38 for every 15 minutes of care. My Choice Wisconsin is writing to notify you of the expected changes to your supportive home care contract.
What this means for you
- If your contracted rate with My Choice Wisconsin is below the new minimum required rate of $6.38 for 15 min, your contracted rate will be increased to meet compliance with the contract. We will send you a new contract via email. Once you receive a new contract, you do not have to do anything if you agree with the terms. You have 30 days to review and either decline or dispute the contract. If we don’t hear from you within 30 days, we will consider your contract to be active and in effect at the new minimum rate.
- If your contracted rate with My Choice Wisconsin is at or above the new minimum rate, your contract rate will remain the same and there will be no change to your contract. You do not have to do anything. We will send you an email to let you know that your current contract will remain the same.
How to bill at the new rate
- For Family Care members, you may start billing effective 10/1/24 dates of services and after with the new minimum rate. You will not experience a change in current authorizations and may continue to bill on your existing authorizations.
- For Family Care Partnership members, while you may also start billing effective 10/1/24 dates of services and after with the new minimum rate, we ask that you please wait to submit your claims until after you have received your updated authorization. We will provide a new authorization for you no later than October 15, 2024.
Any clean claims submitted below the minimum fee schedule for 10/1/24 dates of service or beyond will be automatically reprocessed no later than 12/31/24 at the new minimum fee rate. No additional action is required by you, the provider, for your claims to be reprocessed. My Choice Wisconsin will not be able to provide an estimated timeline for reprocessing specific claims by phone or e-mail.
