Tell Me Something Good – Celebrating Chad

At My Choice Wisconsin, our staff regularly receive uplifting emails from our Member Advisory Committee. These feel-good messages make our week and we’re pleased they have agreed to include you in sharing their positive thoughts!

The Member of Advisory Committee (MAC) is proud to share with you the latest accomplishment of one of our own on the MAC, Chad.

On June 24th Chad completed the Wisconsin Triterium Triathlon in Verona, Wisconsin.

Assisting Chad was Dare2tri, a non-profit specializing in adaptive sports. From their website: “We encourage recreation, racing, and competition, while cultivating a sense of community for all athletes, who are not labeled by physical ability but rather their determination and will to succeed.”

Chad’s determination and will to succeed is strong. He has been constantly pushing the boundaries of expectations since his traumatic brain injury, whether that’s by being a great dad, serving on the MAC, successfully petitioning the court to terminate guardianship and reverse the agreement that had taken away his rights, working in the community, or completing a triathlon.

This is possible because of Chad’s hard work, the love of his family, the care of community members and the support of long-term care services provided by My Choice Wisconsin. What the staff at My Choice Wisconsin does matters to Chad. It matters to all our members.

On this holiday that celebrates the idea of independence, remember how what you do every day helps make the idea of independence real for our members. Thank you!
