The Wisconsin Personal Services Association (WPSA) is a statewide association of personal care and other community-based in-home care providers. The Joint Finance Committee recently met regarding the state budget and has been fielding many questions about its outcome. They created this helpful document to highlight their updates. For example, the personal care rate increase is still in the budget, however several items from the Governor’s Task Force on Caregiving were removed like the statewide rate band and direct care worker training.

Please note that just because something is currently still in the budget, it doesn’t mean that it won’t be modified or changed later on. And some of the items that have been removed from budget consideration could be introduced as separate legislation outside of the state budget process.
